Our World…
First, as to the present situation with COVID-19 or any natural disaster, this is not God punishing us. God is Love itself and he loves us with an unbelievable, endless, perfect love and calls to us to be close to him. He is all-knowing and knew before he created anything what human beings would do if he created us. He created us anyway and planned his salvation of us.
He loves us, provides for us and cares about us. However, when we turn to other gods such as money, power, fame, social media, work, addiction, etc. we basically tell him we do not want him, he is not that important to us. At that point, he removes his protection and presence from us and that is usually when bad things begin to happen. What is great about God is that he is still there forgiving us and loving us. He reaches out to us to bring good out of the bad, to bring us back to him, if we only have the eyes to see it and the ears to hear him.
