When God says no!

One of the hardest things I have experienced since saying yes to God is when God says no to whatever we are asking him to do. Most of the time it is asking him to do something that is good which makes it even more difficult to accept that he is saying “no”. As I revealed in one of my latest posts, my husband has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He is doing well so the devil has switched to attacking us through our family. I have been praying and praying for this to be resolved but to no avail. God has told me “no”. I know he has a plan in all of this craziness but it is still very painful to go through and I worry about my husband dealing with this stress while going through chemo. However, I have learned through the years that we all have crosses to bear and often Satan uses our family and friends to attack us and hopefully make us turn away from God. I will never turn away from our God but I do ask him to resolve this as quickly as possible.

I hold on to the hope that he will bring me through this ‘no’ stronger and wiser and I am offering it all up to him for all of those in the world who need prayers right now. This is the best way to handle when, for whatever reason, God says “no” to what we are asking even when it is for something good. It is hard to hear and harder to go through but we must remember that the Father even told Jesus “no” in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus asked him to take this cup of the painful death he was going to go through away from him. When we go through times like these we are even closer to Jesus and need to ask him to help us say as he did, “not my will, Father, but yours be done.” May God bless you and keep you close to him. Let us unite our suffering with Jesus’ suffering and offer it up to the Father in love. Remember what the apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Love conquers all!
